Side loader Forklift Training for Novice & Experienced Operators
Next Level Safety provides ITSSAR-accredited sideloader forklift training for novice, experienced and existing operators. Delegates will gain practical experience operating a sideloader forklift truck, supported by essential theory. The course covers safe load handling, manoeuvring, stability, stacking and de-stacking, pre-use inspections, and the safe handling of long and bulky loads. Training is delivered on your site, across Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Worksop the wider South Yorkshire area and throughout the UK, in line with ITSSAR accreditation requirements.
Course Content
• Health and safety responsibilities for sideloader operators
• Pre-use inspection and maintenance checks
• Understanding truck stability and rated capacity
• Safe handling of long and bulky loads
• Safe lifting, stacking and de-stacking
• Correct use of the load bed/platform
• Manoeuvring in confined areas and aisles
• Awareness of pedestrians and workplace hazards
• Practical driving and handling assessment
Novice Course Duration:
• 3 delegates – 5 days
• 2 delegates – 4 days
• 1 delegate – 3 days
Refresher Course:
• 3 delegates maximum – 1 day
Conversion Course:
• 3 delegates maximum – 1–2 days, depending on previous qualification and truck type
Truck Categories:
• C1 – Side loader up to and including 5,000kg
• C2 – Side loader over 5,000kg up to and including 15,000kg
• C3 – Sideloader over 15,000kg
