LOLER Awareness Training for Supervisors and Managers
Next Level Safety’s LOLER Awareness course gives supervisors, managers and others responsible for lifting operations the knowledge needed to oversee routine lifting activities safely.Delegates will develop an understanding of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), including their responsibilities when selecting equipment, supervising lifting activities and checking that lifting equipment and accessories remain suitable for use.
The course can be tailored around the equipment used within your workplace, including overhead travelling cranes, swing jib cranes, chain blocks, lever hoists, slings, shackles and other lifting accessories.
Training is delivered on your site across Doncaster, Worksop, Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, the wider South Yorkshire region and throughout the UK.
Course Content:
• Understand the legal framework for lifting operations and the responsibilities of supervisors and employees.
• Learn the key factors to consider when selecting lifting equipment.
• Recognise how different sling arrangements affect the forces applied to loads.
• Understand methods for estimating load weights safely.
• Identify and check lifting equipment before use.
• Recognise and apply standard hand signals for safe lifting operations.
• Observe routine lifting operations and help contribute towards risk assessments.
• Theory assessment.
