Slinging and Signalling Training for Novice & Experienced Operators
Next Level Safety delivers practical Slinging and Signalling training, also commonly referred to as Slinger/Banksman training. Delegates will learn how to select and inspect lifting accessories, attach loads safely and communicate effectively with crane operators using recognised hand signals.
The course combines essential theory with practical lifting exercises using your equipment and typical workplace loads. Training is delivered on your site across Doncaster, Worksop, Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, the wider South Yorkshire region and throughout the UK, with ITSSAR-accredited certification available where required.
Course Content:
• Health and safety responsibilities under LOLER and PUWER
• Roles and responsibilities during lifting operations
• Understanding safe working loads and equipment identification
• Selecting suitable slings, shackles and lifting accessories
• Carrying out pre-use checks and reporting defects
• Understanding sling angles, load balance and centre of gravity
• Attaching, securing and controlling loads safely
• Establishing exclusion zones and maintaining safe positioning
• Using recognised hand signals and clear communication
• Practical slinging, signalling and competence assessments
