Powered Pallet Truck Training for Novice & Experienced Operators
Next Level Safety provides professional Powered Pallet Truck (PPT) training for businesses across Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Worksop, the wider South Yorkshire area and across the UK.
Our on-site training can be delivered around your operational requirements, including days, afternoons, nights shifts helping businesses arrange training with minimal disruption to production and day-to-day operations. ITSSAR accredited training is available across the current ABA Group A categories.
Course Description
Delegates will gain practical experience operating powered pallet trucks, supported by essential theory. The course covers safe operation, manoeuvring, load handling and pre-use checks, helping operators understand how to use the equipment safely within their workplace.
Training is delivered on-site using your equipment, allowing the course to reflect the working environment and tasks operators will encounter in their day-to-day role.
Course Content
• Health and safety responsibilities for operators
• Pre-use inspections and safety checks
• Controls and operating procedures
• Safe load handling
• Travelling and manoeuvring safely
• Operating in confined areas
• Pedestrian and workplace awareness
• Battery charging and safe parking procedures
• Stability and safe operating principles
• Practical operating assessment
Novice Course:
• 1–2 days depending on truck type and delegate numbers (max 3)
Refresher Course:• Maximum 3 delegates – up to 1 day
Truck Types:
A1 – Pedestrian Pallet / Stillage / Low Level Lift Truck, including fold-down platform
A2 – Rider Pallet / Stillage / Low Level Lift Truck, fixed platform (now category E0 Jan 2026)
A3 – Pedestrian Counterbalance Lift Truck
A4 – Rider Pallet Stacker Lift Truck
A5 – Pedestrian Pallet Stacker Lift Truck
A6 – Pedestrian Straddle Lift Truck
A7 – Pedestrian Reach Lift Truck
