Manual Handling
Our Manual Handling course is designed to give learners the knowledge and practical skills needed to lift, carry, and move objects safely in the workplace. The training focuses on preventing injury, promoting safe working techniques, and understanding the importance of correct manual handling in line with current health and safety legislation.
Delivered in Doncaster, Sheffield, Rotherham, the wider South Yorkshire area, and across the UK, the course ensures participants can apply safe manual handling practices in a variety of workplace settings, helping organisations reduce injuries and maintain compliance.
The course emphasises practical skills, hazard awareness, and ergonomic principles, giving learners the confidence to handle materials safely while supporting a safer working environment.
Course content includes:
- Understanding the risks of poor manual handling.
- Employer and employee responsibilities under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
- Principles of safe lifting and moving techniques
- Anatomy of the spine
- Assessing load weight and risk factors
- Use of mechanical aids and team lifts
- Practical lifting demonstrations and assessment
