 This Ladder Inspection and Safe Use course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to use ladders and step ladders safely in the workplace across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, the wider South Yorkshire region, and across the UK. 


Delivered on-site, the training covers essential aspects of ladder safety, including risk assessment, ladder selection, correct setup, and safe usage techniques, ensuring delegates understand how to prevent accidents and work safely at height. The course supports compliance with PUWER, Work at Height Regulations (WAH), HASAWA, and HSE guidance, giving businesses confidence that teams are competent, confident, and fully prepared to carry out height-related tasks safely. Delegates gain practical experience and understanding to maintain ladders in a safe condition, reduce workplace risks, and uphold regulatory standards. 


Course Content:

- Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) 

- Ladder-specific regulations and guidance 

- Types of ladders and their appropriate use 

- Risk assessment and hazard identification 

- Correct positioning, setup, and climbing techniques 

- Safe working practices on ladders 

- Reporting of defects

Safe Use and Inspection of Ladders

 This Ladder Inspection and Safe Use course equips delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to use ladders and step ladders safely while carrying out periodic thorough examinations across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, the wider South Yorkshire region, and across the UK. 


Delivered on-site, participants will learn to identify defects, assess risks, and ensure ladder safety, giving them the confidence to sign off on inspections and maintain compliance with PUWER, Work at Height Regulations (WAH), HASAWA, and HSE guidance. 


The course ensures delegates understand safe working practices at height, maintain equipment in a safe condition, and support businesses in reducing workplace risks while upholding regulatory standards. 


Course Content:

- Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA)

- Ladder-specific regulations and guidance

- Types of ladders and their appropriate use

- Risk assessment and hazard identification
